This lecture dove into the ideas of being trapped within our own thoughts, and being silenced by others and our own personal situations. For example in the Children of the Seas we were shown the way in which love, honor, and family survival continues to manipulate those who are accustomed to it. The discussions that were made based upon those who are placed within these situations, or place themselves in the walls of silence made me think of various word situations. For example, we are lucky to live in the United States where u have freedom of speech along with much more because in other countries, the government silences its civilians. No matter what they have to follow their ruling, and their opinion is not heard, and not factored whatsoever. Also, listening to P.O.W. by Alicia Keys showed the factors of silence within oneself. Alicia Keys speaks about being locked behind bars within her head because of the power of the words unsaid. Meaning that she's trapped within her thoughts because she stays silent. This is relatable to anyone, because we all have things in which we keep quiet about in a variation of situations.
